The Gandalf Project was born at the intersection of engineering and finance. A team of engineers, programmers, traders, and investors collaborates to structure and codify the entire strategy development process — from data analysis and detection of statistical inefficiencies to advanced backtesting, performance control, and risk-managed portfolios, including rotational approaches.
By integrating AI into this framework, we introduce a new paradigm in quantitative analysis. Our vision is to transform trading and investing ideas into rigorous, structured protocols, increasing the probability of success for both systematic and discretionary traders.
Seasonal patterns are among the most documented phenomena in financial markets. They reflect genuine, recurring shifts in market behaviour driven by earnings cycles, macro flows, and institutional calendar effects. Seasonal traders have long used these recurring performance windows as a structural edge, yet the tools to identify and act on them with rigour simply didn't match the depth of the opportunity.
Plenty of tools exist for trend analysis. Far fewer offer the statistical depth, transparency, and trader-first design that serious seasonal analysis demands. We didn't want another dashboard full of noise. We wanted something built from the way a quant would build it: robust statistics, meaningful metrics, and a workflow that respects your time.
SeasonHunter started as an internal research instrument, built by the Gandalf Project team to analyse seasonal patterns across global markets for our own strategies. Over time, it became clear that what we had built was too useful to keep private. We rebuilt it as a platform, and now we offer it to traders and investors worldwide.
We identify and quantify recurring market inefficiencies through rigorous statistical analysis of decades of price data.
Every idea is codified into a repeatable, testable process — removing emotion and bias from the strategy development cycle.
Machine learning is integrated at every stage — from pattern detection to backtesting validation and portfolio construction.
Designed by practitioners — engineers, quants, and active traders — for both systematic and discretionary traders.
SeasonHunter is a product of The Gandalf Project, a fintech company specialising in quantitative research, education, and the development of systematic trading tools. From Python and machine learning academies to institutional-grade strategy frameworks, Gandalf Project equips traders and investors with the knowledge and tools to operate at a professional level.
